Art Class for advanced painters run by a former art tutor from Blackpool & The Fylde College. The class covers all painting media from watercolours, acryllics and oils to more experimental techniques and approaches to traditional and contemporary art. Group members regularly take part in Blackpool wide community arts projects funded by Arts Council England and the Blackpool Arts Engagement Team.
The Claremont Painters
Beginners & Intermediate art class & social gathering offering advice and support for painting, sketching and multi media art techniques. The group has its own programme of projects or members can work on their own ideas. Absolutely no experience is necessary and the group runs a very active and popular programme of social events. Group members regularly take part in Blackpool wide community arts projects funded by Arts Council England and the Blackpool Arts Engagement Team.
A professionally tutored group for children and adults, from absolute beginners to the more experienced. The group offers training in Tae Kwando. and other martial arts techniques as well as a wider programme of sports fitness and health & fitness advice and support.
The Sassy Stitchers
A friendly group that concentrates on fabrics and textiles projects, particularly making clothes and other garments and accessories as well as soft furnishings. The group also has a strong social element with regular lunches and trips out and is suitable for beginners up to the more advanced.
Blackpool Young Carers Youth Club
A lively and exciting youth base for young people who are full time carers run by the Blackpool Carers Association. The club offers traditional youth club activities, arts and crafts projects, hobbies and sports programmes, information and advice and one to one support.
White Feather Spiritualist Centre
A twice weekly spiritualist and social club offering a wide range of activities as well as healing and support services.
The Claremont Growers
This friendly and dedicated group tends the Claremont Community Garden and the Community Orchard and rockery at the Centre. No gardening experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to come along and join in. The group runs a gardening club and leads a number of special garden projects throughout the year, working closely with the local community, schools and other community centres. The Over 60’s Friendly Club
A welcoming group for the Over 60’s offering bingo, games, cards, raffles and tea and biscuits every week. The club also holds regular luncheons, hot pot suppers, visiting entertainers and day trips throughout the year. Group members regularly take part in Blackpool wide community arts projects funded by Arts Council England and the Blackpool Arts Engagement Team.
Come, Stay & Play Parent/Toddler Group
Games, toys, entertainment and learning through play for pre school children and their families run by the Claremont Children’s Centre. The group also combines a structured programme of messy play and a strong social and peer support element for parents and other family members.
Blackpool Women’s Institute
The local branch of this well known and respected international organisation. Regular day trips, visiting speakers and social events supplement the monthly programme.
Rock Youth Club
Snooker, pool, table tennis, table football, board games and much much more for young people aged 12 and upwards. The youth club also offers information, advice and support for young people as well as organising regular special projects and activities.
A welcoming group offering music, support comfort, companionship and christian worship.
Bibs ‘n’ Bobs
A friendly and lively group for mums and their babies offering health advice, a breastfeeding clinic, smoking cessation service and advice and support as well as strong element of peer support, socialising and a sense of fun.
A lively and very popular craft group covering all aspects of card and paper craft including greetings card making, mobiles and card model kits and other card folding techniques and much much more. The group has an exciting programme of varied projects and members receive expert advice for their own projects as well. Group members regularly take part in Blackpool wide community arts projects funded by Arts Council England and the Blackpool Arts Engagement Team.
Blackpool Karate Association
A professionally tutored martial arts club for children and adults, beginners and more experienced. As well as belt and medal training the club regularly takes part in regional and national competitions and has an excellent track record of successes.
